HAUNTED HILL HOUSE, MINERAL WELLS
Start your trip with a short drive from the TAYLOR’D headquarters to the Haunted Hill House in Mineral Wells. The house belonged to one of the First Founding Families of Mineral Wells and was built in 1880. Since then it has become a world renowned paranormal site for anyone who dares to visit.
Enjoy a nice quiet weekend at Lake Mineral Wells State Park after you endure the paranormal activity or continue on through our Haunted Texas Road Trip.
OLD HERON CASTLE, LAKE WORTH
Next stop on your haunted road trip is the Old Heron Castle on Lake Worth. This 1930s castle, also known as Inverness and the Castle at Heron Bay. Some say the castle was once home to an illegal casino and has secret tunnels leading to the boat docks. Before the existing castle was built, an old stone farmhouse stood on the site since about 1860 and is supposedly incorporated into the existing castle. Legend has it that the farmer who owned the house was engaged to a woman who was mysteriously found floating face-down in the lake on the day of their wedding. People have said you can see a woman in white run from the house down to the water’s edge before disappearing.
WHITE ROCK LAKE, DALLAS
If you are not new to the DFW area, odds are you have been to White Rock Lake in Dallas. But, did you know that it is haunted? Legend has it that you will see a woman dressed in white as you drive near Garland Road. According to two accounts, the woman will ask for a ride to an address on Gaston Avenue. Both accounts claim that the woman mysteriously disappears from the backseat of the car and leaves a damp spot behind.
WITCH MOUNTAIN, CEDAR HILL
Have we scared you off yet? Your next stop on the Haunted Texas Road Trip is to Witch Mountain in Cedar Hill. Take a hike in Lester Lorch Park to try and find the wooden cabin on top of Witch Mountain. Upon hiking to the top, you will come face to face with the dilapidated barn and three little girls.
After stopping at Witch Mountain in Cedar Hill, take a break at Cedar Hill State Park. You can relax by the lake or explore an old Texas farm.
